Privacy Policy

01Who This Policy Applies To

The Service is intended for adults located in the United States. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction if higher, to use the Service. The Service is not directed to children. See Section 11 (Children's Privacy) for more information.

02Information You Provide

You may provide the following information directly when you create an account and use the Service:

• Account information, such as your email address and authentication credentials.
• Lawn photos and images you upload.
• Lawn activity records, such as mowing, watering, fertilizing, and treatment logs.
• Property and lawn information, such as lawn size, grass type, and conditions.
• Zone boundaries and mapping data you create or adjust.
• Notes, observations, and other free-text content.
• Soil and environmental information you enter.
• Support requests and other communications you send to us.

03Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Service, we may automatically collect:

• Approximate or precise location information used to provide mapping, satellite imagery, weather, and lawn care features. Precise location is used only with your device permission and to support the features you request.
• Device and app information, such as device type, operating system, app version, and identifiers used for push notifications.
• Usage information, such as features used, actions taken, and interaction patterns, which may be collected through analytics and error-monitoring tools.

04Information From Third Parties

We may receive information from third-party providers that support the Service, including:

• Weather and environmental data associated with your location.
• Mapping, satellite imagery, and geolocation data.
• Subscription, purchase, and entitlement status from app marketplaces and subscription-management providers.

We do not receive your full payment card details. Payments are processed by app marketplaces and payment processors, as described in Section 7.

05How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
• Create and manage your account and subscription.
• Generate lawn care recommendations, reminders, analyses, identifications, and other insights.
• Analyze lawn photos and other content to provide diagnostic and informational features.
• Send push notifications, reminders, and service-related communications you have enabled.
• Provide customer support and respond to your requests.
• Monitor, secure, troubleshoot, and protect the Service.
• Develop new features and improve existing functionality.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

06Photos and Location Information

Because Grassara is a lawn care application, photos and location information are central to how the Service works.

• Lawn photos may be analyzed by automated systems and, in some cases, by third-party artificial intelligence providers to generate informational outputs such as issue identification and recommendations.
• Before photos are processed for analytics or shared with AI providers, we apply technical measures intended to remove embedded metadata, such as location coordinates stored within an image file. These measures reduce, but may not entirely eliminate, the possibility that an image could be associated with a particular location.
• Location information is used to provide mapping, satellite imagery, weather data, and location-aware recommendations.

You control whether you upload photos and whether you grant location permissions through your device settings.

07How We Share Information

We share information only as described below. We do not sell your personal information.

• Service providers. We share information with vendors who help us operate the Service, including cloud hosting and database providers, mapping and imagery providers, weather data providers, push-notification providers, payment and subscription providers, and, where applicable, analytics, error-monitoring, and artificial intelligence providers. These providers are authorized to use the information only to perform services for us.
• Payment and subscription processors. Billing and subscription management are handled by third-party providers, including app marketplaces such as Google Play and the Apple App Store, and applicable payment processors, subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
• Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or government request, or to protect the rights, safety, property, or security of Grassara, our users, or others.
• Business transfers. If Grassara is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.
• Aggregated and de-identified data. As described in Section 8.

08Aggregated and De-Identified Data

We may create, analyze, use, license, share, and commercialize aggregated, anonymized, statistical, and de-identified information derived from use of the Service.

We do not currently sell, license, or share data with third parties, including aggregated or de-identified data. If this changes, we will update this Privacy Policy and our related disclosures, including our app marketplace data-safety disclosures.

This information is processed so that it is not used to reasonably identify you, your household, or your specific property. We do not sell, license, or share aggregated or de-identified datasets in a manner that reasonably identifies you, your household, or your specific property.

We retain ownership of aggregated and de-identified datasets generated through operation of the Service.

09Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers that have their own privacy practices, which we do not control. These currently include or may include providers of cloud hosting and authentication, mapping and satellite imagery, weather data, push notifications, subscription and payment processing, analytics and error monitoring, and artificial intelligence processing. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of the app marketplace through which you obtained the Service.

10Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or backup purposes. Aggregated and de-identified information that no longer identifies you may be retained as described in Section 8.

11Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information and terminate the associated account. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at admin@grassara.com.

12Your Choices and Rights

You can:

• Access and update account information through your account settings.
• Control permissions, including location and notifications, through your device settings.
• Manage subscriptions through the applicable app marketplace or payment provider.
• Delete your account, as described in Section 13.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws, including the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and the right to opt out of certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at admin@grassara.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

13How to Delete Your Account and Data

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information at any time by:

• Using the account-deletion option within the app, where available; or
• Sending a request to admin@grassara.com from the email address associated with your account.

Deleting the app from your device does not delete your account or cancel your subscription. To cancel a subscription, follow the cancellation process provided by the applicable app marketplace or payment provider.

14Communications and Push Notifications

If you enable push notifications, we may send reminders, alerts, and insights related to your lawn care. You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings. We may also send service-related communications, such as account, security, or transactional messages, that are necessary to operate the Service.

15Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information, including access controls and data-isolation practices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

16International Users

The Service is operated from the United States and intended for users located in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your location.

17Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. If we make material changes, we may provide notice through the Service, by email, or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the Service after the updated Privacy Policy takes effect constitutes acceptance of the changes.
